A I Breeding Programme

This season we have used AI in our breeding programme across 95 ewes in our TEFRom and Suftex studs.

This is the eighth time we have used AI in our breeding programme and it is a great tool to enable us to use genetics which would otherwise be hard to use due to location or demand. Using high performing outside rams ensures breeding diversity without compromising the top quality genetics we strive for. Using these rams also forms additional links to the other breeders throughout the country. These links (both within and across breeds) help enhance the accuracy of the breeding values for all the rams in NZ.
